This is an all original SFBJ French papier mache sailor doll, and he dates from the WWI era. This wonderful regional costume doll came out of a collection from the Charles Dawes House in Evanston, Ill

 

Antique doll heads are measured from top of forehead, at beg of rim, down over face, to beg of neck hole, using a cloth dressmakers tape.  Dresses, shirts, coats and jackets are measured for length,

 

Here is a lovely girl standing 28-30 in height. She has an old bisque head. She does have blue sleep eyes that open and close. She has an open mouth with teeth. One tooth is missing. Not too noticeabl

 

As a result of questions prompted by the original listing, I have done further examination of this doll, removed some tape and discovered defects that I had not realized were present. It appears that
