This is an all original SFBJ French papier mache sailor doll, and he dates from the WWI era. This wonderful regional costume doll came out of a collection from the Charles Dawes House in Evanston, Ill

 

I know nothing about this doll, except that she appears to be made of celluloid, and is in excellent condition. Her clothing appears to be all original, and is sewn on so I won't attempt to remove it.
