A really great Estate find, this is an antique early 1800's brass surveyor Compass with it's original period wood case or box. The compass has 2 parts as can be seen in pictures, the handle (2-3/4" h

 

Very nice C. Plath Navistar "Traditional" Sextant. All parts are intact and appear to be in fine working order. There is some wear on the arc, which I believe is brass. Perhaps that can be cleaned/rem
