Selling a Victorian Tape measure in sterling silver with very pretty raised flowers on both sides. This piece is from the early 1900's, possibly earlier. There is an engraved H on the edge of the tape

 

I have no idea what this is, at first I thought maybe it was a bobbin that went into a large industrial sewing machine, but it is so finely finished and smooth at I don't know why it would go down ins
