Variable from an AM radio, probably the late 1920s. It is 3-1/4" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" H, with the original knob. The plates are close spaced, so it probably exceeds 500 pF. It could use a good cleaning.

 

This is a vintage RCA 6kg6a-el509 tube. New old stock in original box made in USA. Tested strong on a Sencore tc-136 tester. Posted with the eBay Android app
