I have the pleasure this week of listing 2 separate auction listings for primitive antique embroidered pieces made in the 1890's by a North Dakota prairie lady....this first pair are two lovely cream

 

10 small blocks cut fom a quilt top as found. Vintage is probably 1850's to 1880's. I measured one and at the widest point and longest point it was about 3.5 by 5.5 and they all look about the same. I
