Up for auction a small vintage ship's lantern. It appears the lantern was white and changed to very light amethyst by the sun. The brass lantern measures about 5 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches wide

 

I am not sure whether this cigarette case originates in Japan or China. It is silverplated and has the name of its original owner, Gerald Bell who served on the HMS Mutine. According to the internet,
