THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL AND VERY SCARCE PAIR OF VENETIAN TRADE BEADS, FROM THE MID 1800'S, POSSIBLY EARLIER. THEY HAVE A TABULAR SHAPE, WITH A TRANSLUCENT COBALT BLUE COLOR WITH WHITE STRIPES IN A FEATHER

 

This African Trade strand is 20 inches long (just the beads) and each bead is between 10mm and 15mm in size. Patina from aging is fairly uniform and the beads are well matched.
