howes scale..is in raised letters on front of scales looks to be made of cast iron the top thing you put things in is removeable just rest in the cradles of the scales aprox...15 in from back of scale

i think this is for baby shoes .they are very small in size see photos i think it says sterling and dated 1946.they are 4 1/2 inch long .you set the price.good luck.these are very very hard to come by
