This is a fine violin. One can tell by the superior tone woods chosen, the finely grained table, the one piece back. No open seams, some work will be required on the neck where it attaches to the body

I don't know much about the instrument. My father bought it long ago in this condition and never repaired it. I think it would be called a short neck. Probably made in the 1700's but I am not an exper
