I am told that this is an antique Doctors bag. Leather, with brass mechanics. In solid, but well used condition, with some staining to the inner liner, and a couple of small tears.

 

THIS DOCTOR WAS BORN IN THE MIDDLE 1850'S AND WAS IN THE CONNECTICUT AREA. GRADUATED FROM YALE. WAS FROM THE STAMFORD AREA. HE RETIRED IN THE EARLY 1930'S THE THERMOMETER SET SAYSB-D CO ON THE OUTSIDE

 

Pince-Nez glasses were popular from 1880 to 1920. Pince_Nez translates into "nose pincher" because there were no earpieces and the glasses were held in place by spring pressure on the two nose pieces.
