You are bidding on a very nice vintage gold scale in a wooden case, used for the California Gold Rush. It dates back to the 1800's and has 5 brass weights. The scale is working, and is very accurate,

 

The scale wood base has original fitted velvet boxes to hold weights---50/20/10/5/2/2 grams each. No restoration has been done. Has been in the family for more than 70 years. Height is 13 inches. Wood
