This is such a gorgeous old pin! The lady at the estate sale called it Victorian and we believe that is an accurate statement. The bar pin style with the little 'leaves' and fancy inset of micromosaic

 

Circa 1827. The brooch was a gift from a bridegroom to his bride, Mrs. Ellis, on her 18th birthday, her wedding day. Note the thickness of the brooch in the second pic as well as the distinct C clasp.
