This is a front knob and fixing screw for a stanley defience 14" inch jack plane, it has a bit of the finish marred as you can see in the pics.

 

Showing the earliest Mathieson mark. Stamped 1 and 5/8 on the heel (faint) for 5/8" sash bar. In good used condition, some slight bruising to the wedges. Good irons, one marked Hildick.
